Employee Assistance Program

The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is a service offered through Occupational Health Services at Wilson Health that provides confidential, outpatient counseling for employees who seek solutions to better their lives. The first six visits for approved services, including a professional assessment and counseling, are paid for by the employer.

What services are included?

  • Individual counseling
  • Family counseling (if included in your company’s benefit program)
  • Alcohol and drug addiction counseling
  • Support groups
  • 24-hour crisis hotline

What types of problems does the EAP address?

Employees may need help with any number of problems. Some concerns may include marriage, parenting, grief, personal or workplace relationships, legal or financial issues, and drug or alcohol abuse.

What services are NOT included?

Employees may be expected to pay for additional services obtained through the EAP referral process. Examples include: hospitalizations or visits and treatment by a psychiatrist. Please check with the EAP service provider to verify that services are covered by your company’s plan.

When are services available?

Appointments are usually held during normal business hours, Monday through Friday. Appointments may be scheduled around work for convenience. EAP services are also available 24 hours-a-day for crisis situations.

Who provides the service?

A list of approved providers can be obtained from Occupational Health Services at any time. The offices and providers listed have a relationship with Wilson Health to provide EAP services that benefit employees of businesses and industries in our region.
