Ridley Barron’s powerful message is one of hope, healing and forgiveness.

It is a message thousands have heard and now you have the opportunity to hear--at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 14--when Ridley takes the floor at Sidney Middle School, 980 Fair Rd., in Sidney to present: “Every ½ Second Counts.”

Wilson Memorial is sponsoring this special program for free to its employees, medical staff, their families and friends--and indeed anyone else in the communities it serves.

Although Barron’s talk has special meaning for healthcare workers, his message needs to be heard by everyone who has the chance, according to Mark Dooley, chief executive officer of Wilson Memorial. “I have heard it several times and can’t wait to hear it again,” Dooley said.

Barron is an author, internationally known speaker and tireless advocate for patient safety. He is also the founder and president of Ridley Barron Ministries in Thompson Station, Tenn.

Carrying the power of personal experience, Barron approaches the subject of patient safety as few can. His message will empower patients, families, clinicians and those impacted by adverse medical events. It will leave a lasting impression and offer a unique perspective on patient safety.

Barron has shared his story at numerous hospitals, medical conferences and meetings of various professional health organizations from coast to coast. In 2011, Ridley was nominated for the prestigious Medically Induced Trauma Support Services Award, which recognizes people who exemplify its mission. He was also a featured speaker at the 2011 Medical Group Management Association Annual Conference in Las Vegas as well as the 2012 Health CoNNect Partners Pharmacy and Radiology Conference in Miami.

In January of 2012, Ridley released his book, “Twist of Faith,” which transparently records his journey after a shocking tragedy. His message has been published in several magazines and medical publications as he works to bring good from a tragic story.
