What is a CT Heart Screening?
A heart scan, also called a heart CT screening or calcium scoring, is a simple non-invasive screening that tells your doctor if you are at an increased risk from the most common form of heart disease – Coronary Artery Disease (CAD). This scan identifies if calcium deposits are present in the arteries of your heart. Calcium deposits may indicate the presence of plaque. This can cause narrowing of your arteries, which can lead to CAD and result in a heart attack.
Who Should Get a CT Heart Screening?
Patients at least 35 years old, have not been previously diagnosed with coronary heart disease, and have at least two of the following risk factors:

Physically inactive

Family history

High Cholesterol

Depression

High blood pressure

Smoker
