Public Invited to Hope Launch on October 15

The loss of a child is a very emotional time in the life of a parent. The loss is often a private burden that parents carry alone. Wilson Health would like to reach out to all those who have experienced a similar situation. On Sunday, October 15, Wilson Health will host the 9th Annual Hope Launch in conjunction with National Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Day.

Vickie's Story

“My name is Vickie and this is my Survivor Story. In 1995, I was 38 years old living in Spokane, Washington. A new mom with my family back in Ohio, I was living a busy life. I went in for my annual mammogram and received a follow up phone call a few days later stating I needed to have a biopsy since my mammogram came back abnormal. Instead of having the biopsy, I opted to have the suspicious lumps removed (lumpectomy). I believe this is what saved me.

Wilson Health Offers Mended Hearts Support Group

Wilson Health is offering “Mended Hearts,” a community-based, national support network for heart patients and their caregivers. The group will kick-off on August 28, 2017 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Wilson Health Professional Building, Lower level, Room A.  

2nd Annual Heroes Behind the Badge Blood Drive

Wilson Health is teaming up with Shelby County Police, Fire and EMS departments as well as the Community Blood Center of Dayton to recruit more donors and help raise awareness of the need for blood donations. On August 29, 2017, the 2nd Annual Heroes Behind the Badge blood drive event will take place. This one day only donation event comes at a very crucial time when the blood supply in our area is in great demand.  

2017 Wilson Health Golf Classic Raises Over $35,000

Shelby Oaks Golf Club in Sidney was the site for the 23rd annual Wilson Health Foundation Golf Classic on July 10.  Net proceeds for the event were over $35,000, which will be used to build the Foundation’s general endowment fund. After this year’s event, the total net funds raised since inception in 1995 is $905,674.

137 golfers were registered to play in the event corporately supported by three Titanium sponsors:  Advanced Composites; Honda of America Manufacturing, Inc.; and NKTelco. 

Wilson Names Stewart Healthcare Worker of the Year

The Albert E. Dyckes Healthcare Worker of the Year Award is given each year to one Ohio caregiver who personifies a leader who gives back to the community and routinely goes beyond the call of duty. All nominees will be honored at the June OHA Recognition Banquet in Columbus.

Wilson Health Golf Classic Set for July 10

The 2017 Wilson Health Golf Classic, scheduled for Monday, July 10, is accepting registrations for golfers.  The outing will take place at Shelby Oaks Golf Club in Sidney with proceeds used to build Wilson Health Foundation’s general endowment fund.

The first outing in 1995 resulted in a net of $20,000, and since then the outing has continued to grow and has raised $869,678 for Wilson Health. 

External Pacemakers Provide Life Saving Care

The Cardiovascular Cath Lab at Wilson Health provides high quality care and effective treatment options for patients with heart and vascular diseases. Treating over 1000 patients each year, including more than 500 with cardiac related diseases, both the Cath Lab and Critical Care units at Wilson Health use external pacemakers to provide lifesaving care.

Turkeyfoot Benefit Crew donates to Wilson Hospice

Wilson Hospice received a generous gift of $14,600 from the Turkeyfoot Benefit Crew.  Their first donation was made in 2008 and since then the total gifts from this energetic group has risen to $97,900.

This volunteer organization was established in 2000 by twelve members who were inspired by first-hand experiences with terminal illness.
