Wilson Health to Participate in Great American Smokeout on November 19

Wilson Health is partnering with the American Cancer Society and participating in the 2015 Great American Smokeout. Every November Wilson Health sets aside the third Thursday of the month to encourage smokers to kick the habit and finally give up smoking.

New Physicians Honored

SIDNEY – Wilson Health honored new physicians Wednesday evening at the Shelby Oaks Golf Club during the annual New Physicians Reception. Seven new physicians were honored at the event, with guests including physicians, hospital leaders and staff, past and present board members and community leaders.

Go Pink for the Women in Your Life

Women tend to put the health of their family before their own health – taking care of the children, ensuring the housework duties get completed or cooking a hearty meal for the entire family. This often puts their own health, wellbeing and prevention on the backburner.

Wilson Health to Host Diabetes Support Group

SIDNEY (October 14, 2015) – Wilson Health will be offering diabetes support group class on Tuesday, October 20. The topic being featured for this class is “pampering the diabetic foot.” This class will be presented by Certified Diabetes Educators (CDE) at Wilson Health, Linda Barhorst, RN, CDE, and Holly Burch, RN, CDE. The class will be held from 6:30pm to 7:30pm in the lower level conference room of the Professional Building.

Community Health Needs Assessment

SIDNEY (October 14, 2015) - Kettering Health Network, Premier Health and Wilson Health want to hear from you. The three hospitals and health systems have joined together to perform a Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) for the region. The CHNA process is being facilitated by the Greater Dayton Area Hospital Association (GDAHA) and The Health Collaborative.

Wilson Health Increases Sexual Assault Care Services

SIDNEY (October 13, 2015) — Wilson Health provides sensitive health care and treatment to victims of sexual assault and rape and is now partnering with a sexual assault nurse examiner (SANE) program.

SANE provides Wilson Health with access to a sexual assault nurse examiner 24 hours a day for patients that present through the emergency department as well as in-house patients after a reported sexual assault.

Partnership Brings World Class Imaging Services to Wilson Health

Riverside Radiology and Interventional Associates (RRIA) and Wilson Health are proud to announce their partnership to provide subspecialized diagnostic interpretations and interventional radiology services to the residents of Shelby County and surrounding communities. Enhancements to Wilson Health’s current healthcare delivery system will span across multiple service lines, since diagnostic imaging and interventional radiology are such integral parts of patient care. 

Wilson Health Invites Public to Hope Launch

The loss of a child is a very emotional time in the life of a parent. The loss is often a private burden that parents must carry alone. Wilson Health would like to reach out to all those who have experienced a similar situation. On Thursday, October 15, Wilson Health will host the 7th Annual Hope Launch in conjunction with National Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Day.

Wilson Health Hospice to Offer Volunteer Training Classes

SIDNEY (October 1, 2015) – Wilson Health Hospice is offering training classes for anyone who would like to assist patients facing terminal illness and their families.

The classes will begin November 3 and will continue every Tuesday and Thursday through November 19 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Classes will be held at the Wilson Health Home Care & Hospice office, located on the second floor of 1083 Fairington Drive, Sidney.

Wilson Health’s Diabetes Education Program Earns Recognition

SIDNEY (September 28, 2015) – The Wilson Health diabetes self-management education program has been awarded Continued Recognition from the American Diabetes Association (ADA).

The program was originally recognized at Wilson Health in September 2002 and has maintained recognition for the past 13 years. This program offers high-quality diabetes education services to the patients in Shelby County and the surrounding communities. With the renewed recognition, the program at Wilson Health continues to be recognized by the ADA through September 2019.
