2017 Wilson Health Golf Classic Raises Over $35,000

Shelby Oaks Golf Club in Sidney was the site for the 23rd annual Wilson Health Foundation Golf Classic on July 10.  Net proceeds for the event were over $35,000, which will be used to build the Foundation’s general endowment fund. After this year’s event, the total net funds raised since inception in 1995 is $905,674.

137 golfers were registered to play in the event corporately supported by three Titanium sponsors:  Advanced Composites; Honda of America Manufacturing, Inc.; and NKTelco. 

Wilson Names Stewart Healthcare Worker of the Year

The Albert E. Dyckes Healthcare Worker of the Year Award is given each year to one Ohio caregiver who personifies a leader who gives back to the community and routinely goes beyond the call of duty. All nominees will be honored at the June OHA Recognition Banquet in Columbus.

Wilson Health Golf Classic Set for July 10

The 2017 Wilson Health Golf Classic, scheduled for Monday, July 10, is accepting registrations for golfers.  The outing will take place at Shelby Oaks Golf Club in Sidney with proceeds used to build Wilson Health Foundation’s general endowment fund.

The first outing in 1995 resulted in a net of $20,000, and since then the outing has continued to grow and has raised $869,678 for Wilson Health. 

External Pacemakers Provide Life Saving Care

The Cardiovascular Cath Lab at Wilson Health provides high quality care and effective treatment options for patients with heart and vascular diseases. Treating over 1000 patients each year, including more than 500 with cardiac related diseases, both the Cath Lab and Critical Care units at Wilson Health use external pacemakers to provide lifesaving care.

Turkeyfoot Benefit Crew donates to Wilson Hospice

Wilson Hospice received a generous gift of $14,600 from the Turkeyfoot Benefit Crew.  Their first donation was made in 2008 and since then the total gifts from this energetic group has risen to $97,900.

This volunteer organization was established in 2000 by twelve members who were inspired by first-hand experiences with terminal illness.

Wilson Health Sports Medicine in National Spotlight

Wilson Health's care extends beyond the walls of the hospital. Not only does Wilson Health provide sports medicine services for area schools and their athletic programs, but also for local law enforcement, Sidney Police Department. 

New Grief Support Group Starts May 16

The first of an eight-week series of grief support group meetings will be held on Tuesday, May 16 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. According to Ruth Montgomery, LISW-S, bereavement coordinator, the goals of this support group are to provide educational information about grief and loss, assist group members in developing coping and adapting skills and to offer emotional support. The support group sessions are offered free of charge.

RN Career Day Set for May 4

On May 4, 2017, Wilson Health will host a Registered Nurse (RN) Career Day. Onsite interviews will be conducted (bring your resume) or you can apply online prior to the event. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet with clinical managers, take a tour of the Wilson Health facilities and meet with representatives from human resources to learn about Wilson Health's competitive compensation and benefits package.
